Hey Hey! I’m literally writing this and there’s snow on the ground outside, so it’s pretty much the perfect conditions to talk about winter skincare lifesavers. If you’re like me, you’re ready to skip to summer as soon as the Christmas decorations are down 😉 Wintertime can be so harsh on my skin because it gets sooo dry…I’m constantly moisturizing and fighting against dry skin. I’ve recently found some great products that I’m currently loving and like to mix up in my routine and I think you guys will love them, too!
So, let’s take a look at these winter skincare lifesavers!
1.The Body Shop Spa of the World Cupuacu Exfoliating Scrub-in-Oil
This stuff is AMAZING. I got it in a gift set for Christmas, and when I used it I could not believe it! I’m a huge fan of sugar scrub, and usually I make homemade batch throughout the year. I’m constantly using it, but lately, life’s just gotten busy and I haven’t made the time to make any homemade scrub. It’s been forever. I’ve never found a store-bought scrub that works just as good as homemade, but this stuff is THE BEST! I love sugar scrub because it’s a combination of oil with sugar as an exfoliant that moisturizes and polishes your skin. I feel like nothing hydrates my skin the way an oil-based scrub does, and this Scrub-in-Oil is no exception. My skin definitely feels quenched when I use this and I don’t even have to put on lotion afterwards because it is sooo good! You guys will definitely want to try this!
2. Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
This is definitely a thirst quenching moisturizer. I use it every night after I take off my makeup. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, even when I wake up in the morning. This is a long-lasting moisturizer that’s great to mix into your skincare routine. It’s also a product that you can probably get some longevity out of because you only need to use a small amount. They have other products in the Moisturize Surge line, but so far this is the only one I’ve tried. I’m loving it so far.
3. Kopari Face the Day and Night Set
I love Kopari products! One of my favorites is the Coconut Body Glow to give your skin that pretty golden glow in the summer. It’s one of my favorite summer beauty products that I shared this past summer. So of course, I had to try their skincare system. It comes with a Coconut Oil Cleanser, a Rose Toner mist, Coconut Moisturizer and a Lip Balm. Oils are great for moisturizing because they can penetrate deeper into the skin than just typical lotion, so it definitely is really hydrating. I think these also smell great and they just made my skin feel so soft! I LOVE this set.
4. Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer
I love Neutrogena products. I have always used their facial cleansers, makeup removing wipes, moisturizers, etc, and even though I’ve featured some products that are more of a high end product compared to drugstore, I definitely use drugstore products in my routine. I love this Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer. I always put this on under my makeup in the mornings because it’s light. I like an oil-free moisturizer for layering under makeup just because it tends to be lighter. I like the sensitive skin formula for this because I know it’s super gentle.
5. EOS Lip Balm Sphere
I love the EOS lip balms. My lips chap so bad in the winter, and when they get dry I tend to bite them. Anyone else? So, to keep my lips soft and smooth, I like to use the EOS Lip Balm sphere everyday. I always put it on to smooth my lips before I apply lipstick. These are great because you can just throw them in your bag. I like to buy a multipack so I can throw one in the bathroom, one in my handbag, one on the night stand, you get it. Having them handy helps to keep your lips feeling soft and smooth!
6. Dr. Dennis Gross Peel Pads
Ok, this is a product that I’ve just started using and y’all, I loved it after one use. I was not familiar with Dr. Dennis Gross and his products until I listened to his interview on The Skinny Confidential Him and Her Podcast! (If you haven’t listened to this, you need to put this on your to-do list because it’s sooo much good info about all things skincare!) I purchased the sample size of the Alpha Beta Peel Pads in the mini section at Sephora, and I’ve had a great experience with them so far. I will be able to share more about my results with these after I’ve used them a few more time. The peel pads are meant to be a more gentle, at-home alternative to chemical peels. The benefit of the Alpha-Beta Peel is that it’s really gentle, you don’t get the red irritation that you would get from a chemical peel, and it’s something you could technically use everyday. They have different levels of strengths. I’m using the universal, but they also have an ultra-gentle and an extra-strength. Dr. Dennis Gross mentions working your way up through the different strengths as your skin gets acclimated to the product. The product is two steps. Each step is a little wipe that you wipe all over your face. Step 1 is the acid component where you use the wipe all over your face until there’s no moisture left in the wipe. Then, you let it sit for 2 minutes. This part burns somewhat, but it’s not too bad. I have no pain tolerance, and this didn’t bother me. For Step 2, you use the second wipe and wipe all over your face. This part soothes the skin and neutralizes the acid from Step1. As soon as I finished my peel, my skin looked noticeably more plump and smooth. It was sooo soft, even my fiancé commented about my skin looked. So, I’m excited to see what my long-term results from this product are. I’ll see you guys updated. I hope these posts help you discover new products, or give you insight into products that may be hanging out on your wishlist. I don’t use these products in any particular order. I’ve just been mixing them into my daily routine, and I have felt my skin drastically improve. I may not use all of these on one particular day. Some people may prefer a more regimented routine for their skin, but this has worked for me, and I like to shake things up and try something different. I would always encourage you to use what works for you. I’m definitely not an aesthetician or a dermatologist, so always do what works best for you and your skin.
