Happy New Year, you guys! I hope you had a great holiday season. I took a little mini-break after the holidays to set some goals, and just get settled into the new year. But now I’m back at it, and ready to get 2018 started here on Life Made Fab. I can’t believe it’s been a full year of Life Made Fab! This time last year, we had just moved into our new home, and I shared my home office reveal in January. Time flies! I’m so excited to see what’s in store for us this year! I wanted to share with you guys my planning essentials for the new year, and talk goal setting.
So let’s talk planning for the year. One of the things I always recommend for the new year is getting a really good planner. I feel like this year, I’ve got planners for my planners, ha! I have three main planners for this year. (I know, I’m being a little over the top with my organization, but hear me out! )
So these, are the planners I picked up this year:
1. The Happy Planner
So last year, I bought a customized Erin Condren planner, and I really liked it. BUT, I always found myself buying the stickers and accessories for the Happy Planner, so I decided to try out The Happy Planner this year for my blog. I have the vertical layout, and I like that a lot better for making to-do lists and notating blog posts and social media content instead of a horizontal layout. I also love how bright and cheerful these are. They are seriously so much fun, and because the binding allows you to add additional pages and pockets, it’s really customizable. I also love the stickers and accessories. I’m excited to have this planner for the year, and decide whether I like it or my previous Erin Condren planner better.
2. Lara Casey’s Powersheets
So, does anyone else feel like they tend to set goals or resolutions every year, and then you don’t really keep track of them, or set up any kind of plan to accomplish them? Yeah, pretty much me every single year! This year, I decided to make sure that I’m going to be tracking my goals, and I have heard sooo many good things about Lara Casey’s Powersheets! This Goal Planner is amazing! It starts out with pre-work where you narrow your focus and evaluate what you value most in your life, and what goals you want to create this year to work towards the vision you have for your life. It was really eye opening and thought-provoking, and definitely helped me prioritize what is important. Also, it’s amazing quality and it’s really pretty! If you want to check out Powersheets, you can still get the undated, 6 month goal planners here.
3. The Happy Planner Mini Fitness Journal
The Happy Planner makes fitness journals, and since sweating for the wedding is definitely one of my goals for the year, I have been using my Fitness Planner a lot more, and I really like the size. It’s perfect for keeping in my purse so I can bring it with me and keep track of my meals and exercise. They say that keeping a food journal keeps you accountable and if you put your workouts in your calendar you are more likely to stick to your plan for working out. So, I’m trying to keep these tips in mind and incorporate them into the goal. The stickers for fitness are also really fun. They have motivational quotes, tracking stickers for weight, water intake, calories burned, and more! So many fun ways to pretty up your fitness planner, which I really love. (PS: The one linked above is on sale for $10!)
I plan on using all of these together to help me stay on track, and make some serious progress on my goals this year. When I set my goals for the year, I tried to look at what I learned from last year, and some things I want to do to improve upon myself this year.
- Love my fiancé well
- Eat Healthy
- Workout 3-4 times per week
- Create a budget and follow it
- Take better care of my skin
- Do small tasks everyday to help keep the house tidy
- Grow my Life Made Fab Community
The good thing that the Powersheets focuses on is that these goals may change, and there’s quarterly check ins to make sure these goals are still relevant in the season you are in. So, I’m starting out with these goals, and we will see how they may change or remain the same in the next few months.
How do you set your goals for the year?
