It’s almost that time of year! Time for Black Friday Sales…and y’all, I love a good Black Friday sale. Nothing gets my adrenaline going than being in the shoe department at Belk on Black Friday…I love spending the day with my mom and Mei-Mei shopping all the deals and attempting to make a dent in our Christmas shopping list. So, this is your Black Friday Game Plan, where I’m sharing tips for making the most of your Black Friday Shopping experience and some of the best deals of the sales this year.
So let’s get into a few tips before we talk deals.
Go in With a Plan.
I know, I know this post is called the Black Friday Game Plan, but really you have to have an idea of what you’re headed to the sale for. I recommend picking up a sales paper or browsing the deals online before you head out, and figuring out the one or two MUST-HAVE items on your list. For example, last year, I really needed cookware because Brandon and I just moved into our house and were still using our piecemeal cookware sets that we had from college. Wal-Mart had an amazing deal on a 30-piece Pioneer Woman Cookware set that I knew I had to have. (Get excited, because they’re bringing it back this year!) So as soon as I got into the store, I looked up where that doorbuster was on the map so I could make my way to that area to make sure I got one. It can get really crazy and it’s easy to get distracted by the other deals going on. You have to prioritize what’s on your list to make sure you get what you’re wanting the most.
Grab it Now, Decide Later.
This was a rule my mom taught me on my very first Black Friday shopping trip. Even if you think you might want it, grab it, and decide later. Black Friday sales, whether you’re at Wal-Mart or the shoe section of Belk, can tend to get really crazy. It’s a lot of people in a small space, snatching up all the different items they can get their hands on. You can’t stand around and decide if you want something or not in the moment. Because one, you’re in the way of other people who are trying to look at whatever you’re standing around debating on, and two, you will miss out on all the great deals if you spend too much time looking at one thing. What we like to do is grab everything we might want to get. Then, once we’ve looked at everything and we think we’re finished shopping. We find a place to go through what we have and decide what we’re buying if there’s items we aren’t sure about. This way, you get to look at everything, you can shop quickly, and you can keep moving so you don’t miss out on something.
Get the Most Bang for Your Buck.
Black Friday sales will often have BOGOs or a package that contains multiples like a maybe a set of candles or bath bombs. Take a look at these bundles and see if it’s something you can break apart and use as gifts for multiple people. For example, sometimes there will be a set of candles on sale for a great price. If there’s three or four candles, you can always open that up and wrap those candles individually and then you’ve got multiple gifts included in the price of one.
Now, let’s get to the deals! I’ve highlighted some of the best deals I’ve found in the sales papers that are released online. A few retailers have not released their sales papers yet, but I’ve listed some of my top picks from the biggest sales below!
